Tub of Insects-chan is the embodiment of a £0.45 tub of insects from the game Scrandle. Friday scrandle games are known for absurdity, and in one the same tub of insects was featured in three different rounds, winning all three. Joe said "Tub of insects, champion of this round", which some artists heard as "Tub of Insects-chan"[1]. The original artist is Adros, who drew two different designs, with Ash drawing another design.
