Votos is a character from The Voting Game.
Round 3
Votos was introduced on February 10, 2021, the sixth day of the voting game, as the main mechanic for round three. As the second Radiant Angel, the Radiant Angel of Reckoning, she had the power to cull games from the voting list, preventing them from being voted on[1]. This nearly eliminated those games' chances of being played by Joe.
The games Votos would cull depended on how many votes she herself recieved.
0 - 50 Votes = No effect. She remains dormant.51 - 150 Votes = She will cull the bottom 10 entries on the list.
151 - 250 Votes = She will cull the middle 10.
251 - 400 Votes = She will cull the top 10.
401+ Votes = She reaches full power, unleashing a reckoning through every game and culling half the list in alternating order STARTING with the Number 1 spot. So 1 -> 3 -> 5 -> 7, and so on. This ends the round immediately.
In order to prevent Votos from culling so many games, voters were given five 'training dummies', which could be voted on. If a training dummy was in a position that Votos would cull, the training dummy would be culled, effectively saving one game. One of the training dummies was purple, and later channified as Purple-chan.
Joe clarified that Votos was immune to all the chaotic and complicated rules of previous rounds, such as the Bomb Defusal fairy, outlier ascension, and culling. Joe felt that Votos sounded vaguely like Makoto, a character from Persona 5, and therefore Votos looked like Makoto.
Votos quickly reached 250 votes, but did not reach 401 or more. At the end of day nine (February 13), Votos culled the top 10 entries from the voting list[2]:
- Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- Pathologic 2
- Xenoblade Chronicles: Definition Edition
- Kawaiinamite: A Weeb Bomb's Tale
- Hatoful Boyfriend
- Green Training Dummy
- Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
- Yakuza Kiwami
- Divinity Original Sin 2
Only the green training dummy was in the top 10 at the time, and eight games were eliminated. Votos then left the voting game, though she was referenced occasionally. Despite Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door being among the list of culled games, both games eventually won the voting game and will be played by Joe in the future.
Final Round
In the fourth and final round of the voting game, the Radiant Angel of Chaos, Davina Cage, contributed to the mechanics. This caused many special effects, such as the addition of downvote buttons, the revival of previously culled games, and opening voting to the general public rather than only Patrons and Twitch Subscribers[3]. Votos did not appear in this round until after voting had closed. At that point, Davina Cage was killed, and Votos was revived in her place[4].
Angered by the chaos of the third round, and of the voting game as a whole, Votos evolved into Vakotos, and attempted to destroy the entire voting game, leaving no winners and making the entire voting game useless. However, through a convoluted series of events, a combination of Purple-chan, Bomb-chan, and the Dragon Angel were able to destroy her before Vakotos was able to eliminate the voted games[5].
