What's the blue?

The first time Joe experienced the supernova in Outer Wilds, it was while he was talking to a character called Esker, so he was stuck in place and couldn't move. Except he had been making his videos on The Witcher for so long that he started calling the character Eskel instead, which is the name of a character from The Witcher. While he was talking to "Eskel", he could see the blue glow of the supernova in the background, so he said "What's the blue, Eskel? Eskel, is this normal?".

Joe sometimes references this by asking "Is this normal?" to characters in a similar tone.^{[citation needed]}

During a Helldivers 2 stream Joe referenced this asking "What's the blue?" when an enemy's blue shield blocked his shots.
