Useless?

Early on when Joe was playing Persona 5, there was a flashback to something that happened roughly one minute before the flashback was shown. This alone left a bad impression on Joe in terms of the game's use of flashbacks. Much later on, a character called Makoto got called useless by her older sister. Then literally one minute later, a different character called her useless again. At this point, Joe almost praised the writing of the game for this connection. But then it did a flashback to 60 seconds ago in case it wasn't obvious enough, and he lost it.

Although no character ever actually said "Wait… Useless?", this is somethig Joe started saying after this moment, especially whenever a flashback happened. Also whenever words ending in the suffix "-less" appear in other games, he tends to say "Wait…" followed by the word.
