Bone fractures and breaks

In the Persona 4 Golden streams, when a character said that they'd fractured some of their bones, this got Joe to question whether a fractured bone is the same as a broken bone. This led to a very long argument between him and chat where he thought that a fractured bone was different to a broken bone, despite not knowing what these terms actually mean in a medical context, and just applying his own general understanding of these words to the context.
