Dryer-chan is the embodiment of Joe's Samsung tumbledryer which he keeps in his basement, which is also where he used to stream. When he did stream there, he would sometimes have his tumbledryer running while streaming, and if the cycle ended during the stream then his microphone would pick up the noise it made at the end of the cycle, which is a song made up of beeps that lasts about 30 seconds.[1] Whenever this happened, Joe paused to clap along to it in a way which chat often noted wasn't in time with the music.[2] Joe has said that he named his tumbledryer Florence, giving the reason that he keeps it next to his washing machine, making it Florence and the washing machine.[3] The original artist of Dryer-chan is Irene. Dryer-chan was nominated for the 2022 Chan of the Year Awards.
