Grenade-chan is the embodiment of the grenades from Half-Life. The original artist is Accursed Vagabond. The grenades were particularly relevant in Joe's streams of Half-Life because of how useless he found them when playing on hard difficulty, and because of one moment where he thought that you couldn't "cook" grenades (pull out the pin and then hold it for a bit before throwing) in the game. Joe was proven wrong when a grenade blew up in his face after holding it for a very long time. Half-Life 1 explicitly prevents grenades from exploding while you're holding them<ref>{{YTCite|7VpDgA6Q51w|channel=Falco|title=<nowiki>Joseph Anderson Half-Life 1 stream 1 with chat [02/07/2023]</nowiki>|time=7036}}</ref>. Half-Life 1 explicitly prevents grenades from exploding while you're holding them[1]. This moment also combined with the fact that the "let him cook" meme was popular at the time. Her counterpart is Grenade 2-chan.
