Bike-chan is the embodiment of the reverse trike from Death Stranding. Joe used the reverse trike a lot, and he started calling it Bike-chan, which prompted the first Bike-chan fanart to be made. The original artist is Marik Bentusi. Because of the way Joe liked playing Death Stranding, he kept on trying to get the reverse trike through treacherous terrain, which took a long time.[1] This caused a back-and-forth between Joe and fan artists, where together they built up a character arc of him and Bike-chan.[2][3] One of the most notable moments in this was Joe getting the reverse trike to the top of the mountain next to the heart-shaped lake through clever use of ladders, after which he famously said "I just got chills".[4][5] It was during this that he said "Bike-chan deserves a gorgeous view", which is something he and chat still say sometimes.
Bike-chan won the 2019 Chan of the Year Awards. She is represented by the emote jphSad.
