There's a character in Ace Attorney called Miles Edgeworth who was in Ace Attorney 1, but then at the start of Ace Attorney 2 it says he's been missing for a year, but then he shows up again at the end of the game. Joe pretended that over the course of that year, Edgeworth had gone to "The Undercourt", a secret underground court where lawyers go to enhance their skills.^[1]^[2]
