Your mother collapsed

In one of Persona 4 Golden's social link scenes (which are optional scenes with specific characters that you can choose to see), an unnamed character runs in from off-screen and says to the character which the protagonist is spending time with "Your mother collapsed!". Joe laughed about how it was a bad attempt to introduce drama to the scene because they didn't have enough ideas to flesh out 10 social link scenes for the character.

In the same stream, only about 30 minutes later (including a 5 minute break), he did a social link scene with a different character and almost exactly the same thing happened in that scene too. Several streams later, a line of dialogue mentioned that an unnamed character "collapsed" as well.

The prevalence of the word collapse in Persona 4 is likely due to an overly literal translation. The verb 倒れる literally means to collapse, but it is used for falling ill, going bankrupt, and is a rather common word in Japanese.
