JADS Marble Race Game Giveaways
In May 2021, some people in JADS organized a game giveaway event. People donated Steam game keys, and then anyone could enter the giveaway and place 5 marbles on whichever games they wanted. Then everyone got in the voice chat channel and watched as the winners of the games were decided by races in the game Marbles on Stream, taking inspiration from The Voting Game. This started a tradition of marble race game giveaways which is still going to this day.
Joe is entirely uninvolved in the organization of these events. The JADS users Caps and Anu do most of the organization themselves, along with various others. Each event is usually more ambitious than the last, introducing features like designated commentators, custom art assets, custom tracks in the game Marbles on Stream, and new rules and gimmicks to make the races more interesting.
The December 2022 event was also host to the first ever, community-organized JADSEYA awards show. Following this, JADSEYA would go on to become an official event, organized and streamed by Joe in collaboration with various members of the community, meaning that it and the JADS marble race game giveaways became separate events. Another feature unique to the December 2022 event was that everyone who entered was allowed to pick one anime, and a winner was chosen from these using Marbles on Stream. Then the winner would be added to The Anime Marble Race. The winner of this was Astrel, and the anime she chose was Mawaru Penguindrum. This was only made possible because Caps convinced Joe to "donate" a marble to the event.
