Right before she died

In a sad scene in Persona 5 when a character is talking about someone called Wakaba who died, he says "It was right before Wakaba died… She told me, "I think I might die"." In context it made sense, but it sounded ridiculous and ruined the mood. Due to this, Joe often parodies heavy-handed foreshadowing by saying "Right before X died, she said 'I think I might die'" or just "Right before X died".
