Everything on this website needs to be at least CC A-SA 3.0 (see the footer of each page for information). This is why we can't use screenshots from streams anywhere, because that would include content from games. Try to use fan art as the images for the pages, and ask for permission from the artist first. (Note: We have blanket permission from {{Person|Marik Bentusi}}, {{Person|Maddison Baek}}, {{Person|vixit}}, {{Person|QwuTew}}, {{Person|Xephorix}}, and {{Person|Jelly}}).

== Basics of Using MediaWiki ==
To create a page that doesn't exist, type the page title into the search bar. You will then be prompted to create the page if it doesn't exist.

The 'insert template' button is a useful tool that takes some getting used to. The most common templates are [[Template:YTCite|YTCite]], [[Template:JoeYT2Cite|JoeYT2Cite]], [[Template:EmotePage|EmotePage]], [[Template:GamePage|GamePage]], and [[Template:ChanInfobox|ChanInfobox]]. To see a full list, go [https://wiki.jads.stream/wiki/Special:PrefixIndex?prefix=&namespace=10 here]. The list of references will be auto-generated at the bottom of the page, but you can also use the Insert drop-down to add it manually.
=== Creating a Page ===
To create a page that doesn't exist, type the page title into the search bar or click a red link to it. You will then be prompted to create the page if it doesn't exist.

Every page needs its appropriate categories. You can either use the horizontal lines menu to add them, or go into the source editor and type
<nowiki>[[Category:Example]]</nowiki>
. Many templates automatically add categories.
=== Using Templates ===
The 'insert template' button is a useful tool that takes some getting used to. Some common templates are [[Template:YTCite|YTCite]], [[Template:JoeYT2Cite|JoeYT2Cite]], [[Template:EmotePage|EmotePage]], [[Template:GamePage|GamePage]], [[Template:ChanInfobox|ChanInfobox]], [[Template:Spoiler|Spoiler]], and [[Template:Person|Person]]. To see a full list, go [https://wiki.jads.stream/wiki/Special:PrefixIndex?prefix=&namespace=10 here]. For almost anything complicated you want to do, there either already is a template for it, or there should be. The person currently in charge of templates is {{Person|Latty}}. Please contact him for questions related to templates.
=== Citations and Images ===
To have an image display, you must first upload it to the wiki using the tool on the right sidebar. The syntax for an example image in a ChanInfobox would be
<nowiki>[[File:Example.png|frameless]]</nowiki>
.

Emotes are much simpler, as you just need to type the emote name, such as
jphSad
, and it will show up.

When citing a Youtube video, the '''Video Code''' is simply the letters and numbers. For example,
dQw4w9WgXcQ
. There's a glitch that occurs when the title contains the character
]
. To fix it, surround it like this:
<nowiki>Example Title with [Brackets]</nowiki>
. There is no current way to cite Nodjatube videos. Please DM @frankcademy for advice on that.

There's a minor visual glitch that occurs when the title contains the character
]
. This is very common in videos from '''Falco'''. To fix it, surround it like this:
<nowiki>Example Title with [Brackets]</nowiki>
. There is currently no way to cite Nodjatube videos.

As you migrate, please check a couple of things. We've decided to use American English spellings as our standard, so if you notice any British spellings, please change them. Also, citations should be after punctuation, not before.
The list of references will be auto-generated at the bottom of the page, but you can also use the Insert drop-down to add it manually. You will need to add the word "References" in Sub-Heading 3 (Ctrl+5) just above the references list manually.

Finally, make sure to add the appropriate categories (like tags, but better). You can either use the horizontal lines menu to add them, or go into the source editor and type
`<nowiki>[[Category:Example]]</nowiki>`
. Some templates automatically add categories, but there's no issue being redundant.
=== Common Mistakes ===
When editing pages, please check a couple of things. Any time a person is referenced, use the [[Template:Person|Person]] template rather than just typing their name. Like Wikipedia, we've decided to use American English spellings as our standard, so if you notice any British spellings, please change them. Similarly, citations should be before punctuation, not after.

If you're not sure how to migrate some particular feature, look at other similar pages for reference. If you're still confused, feel free to DM George washingmachine (@frankcademy), xeph (@xephorix512), Latty (@lattyware), Retinas (@retinas), or mouse (@._mouse), as we've all migrated a bunch of pages already.
If you're not sure how to handle something, post a message in the Wikipedia Possums Discord.
