Yes, this is actually what the stream looked like at one point.

Joe says that his only stream of Hellpoint was the most uncomfortable and out-of-control he's ever been while streaming, and calls it "The cursed Hellpoint stream". The reasons for this are as follows, in chronological order:

  • He had to sort out a lot of things in relation to people voting on which game he should play on stream next, which he decided to do in this stream. He had to run lots of polls and put "viewer propaganda" on screen, resulting in most of the stream being dedicated to doing things other than playing Hellpoint.[1]
  • The developers of Hellpoint started watching the stream, and Joe started feeling guilty for not giving the game his full attention.[2]
  • A Twitch user called "BillNyeTheCreampieGuy" donated Twitch bits, so Joe had to read out their name while the devs were still watching him.[3]
  • He connected his play session to his Twitch channel, which meant that the developers could control his game.[4] They put messages on-screen in the game,[5] and they also spawned him a pet.[6]
  • The developers enabled a bot in chat which let viewers vote on which effects should be enabled in the game. People kept on voting for negative effects like speeding up the whole game,[7] flipping the screen,[8] inflicting negative status effects, and turning off the lights.
