JADSEYA 2023 was first hinted at on the 5th of May 2023 when Joe said that he would be holding another Chan of the Year awards that year. Then the full event was announced by Joe in a stream on the 5th of November, revealing that the unofficial JADSEYA event of the previous year would be made official, and that there would be many more awards than just Chan of the Year.<ref>https://youtu.be/eup5EFUPGNY?t=522</ref> People were given until the 18th of November to submit nominees for the categories, and then following that, the period to vote for which nominees should win would be from the 27th of November to the 11th of December. The final event would then be streamed on the 29th of December.

At the beginning of the voting period, Joe did a stream where he revealed the nominees of all categories, as well as [https://www.jadseya.com jadseya.com] (created {{attribution|Latty}}), which viewers would be able to use to cast their votes.<ref>https://youtu.be/oESA8XkGwBA?t=184</ref> Some of the categories included wildcard nominees, dubbed "[[Eric and The Wheel|Eric]]'s Choice", which were determined during that stream using [[Eric and The Wheel|the wheel]], chosen between various different runner-up nominee suggestions, and Eric. Joe also revealed that some of the categories would have tangible outcomes depending on what won, rather than just being for the sake of recognition. These categories and their outcomes were as follows:

Then in a stream on the 7th of December, between a breif marble race giveaway and reacting to The Game Awards live, Joe showcased all of the fanart which people had made in support of what they wanted to win in the awards show, predominantly for the Most Requested Non-Voted List Game category, so that they could influence what Joe would stream in the future.<ref>https://youtu.be/_duC04HwJGI?t=3026</ref> The creation of fan art for this purpose is something which Joe had encouraged when the voting opened. As a result of this encouragement, there were 67 individual works of fan art which he had to get through in roughly an hour and thirty minutes in time for the start of The Game Awards, making this the biggest fan art showcase there has ever been.

The JADSEYA 2023 stream itself featured several marble race game giveaways interspersed between the awards. Each award was also followed by a pre-recorded acceptance speech, some of which were just Joe, some that were various members of the community, one that was his wife Lili, one that was the YouTuber Mandalore, and one that was professional game voice actor Greg Chun. This culminated with the acceptance speech for the Most Requested Non-Voted List Game To Be Streamed award, which was delivered by community member and notorious Xenoblade fan Kay, who was told when she recorded it in advance that Xenoblade had won, when actually the Pathologic series had won. Then once her speech had ended, Joe made it up to her by announcing that another Xenoblade game would also be guaranteed to be streamed in the future as well as the Pathologic series.

== 2024 ==
JADSEYA 2024 went back to being a community-organised event because Joe hadn't streamed much that year. However, many of the more stream-centric award categories still returned in an ironic capacity, each having only two or three valid nominees in total. The event took place on the 28th of December and was streamed in the JADS voice chat channel again. It was hosted by Jelly, HypotheticalWalrus, Bulder, Man of Answers, and also featuring occasional interjections by Joe.
