At the end of Deadly Premonition, there's a character who explains a bunch of plot details to the protagonist, including about how there's some kind of curse where men need to shoot their wives in order to kill spirits that are possessing them. When he's explaining this, he says "I too was unable to shoot my wife", which is now something Joe still quotes to this day.[1]
