In February of 2024, a Reddit user called Number333 started a tradition where every day they would post a Joseph Anderson quote and people would try and guess what stream/video it was from and at what time in the comments. Joe was later asked about this during a Balatro stream and said that they had his blessing to stop as he felt guilty about them having done that for so long<ref>{{YTCite|x-OWnwuNj-A|channel=Non Official Daily(ish) Joseph Anderson|title=We Do a Little Balatrolling {{!}} Balatro Surprise Stream|time=9576}}</ref>. Later, they added him saying that as a quote for day 300 and in the comments of the post Number333 had three demands for Joe. One of these was to have a resident stream artist draw a fan art of them as "Quote-chan"<ref>https://www.reddit.com/r/josephanderson/comments/1hh197i/comment/m37dsp2/?context=3</ref>. In response to this, Marik Bentusi created the first fan art of Quote-chan.
