The first JADSEYA was held in 2022 and was organised by community members without Joe's involvement, and was streamed on JADS rather than on Joe's Twitch channel. For this first year, the JADSEYA acronym was said to stand for Joseph Anderson Discord Server End of Year Awards. But then in 2023, Joe organised his own official JADSEYA in collaboration with various community members, some of which were involved with the previous year's event, and it was publicised and streamed on his Twitch channel. From this year on, the acronym was instead said to stand for Joseph Anderson Direct Showcase End of Year Awards.
