The Anime Marble Race refers to the ongoing event where viewers can try to make Joe watch an anime of their choice. This event started on the 19th of April 2022, shortly after Joe returned from a streaming hiatus. He had been considering getting his viewers to make him watch an anime for years before he actually went through with this idea.

Two Twitch channel point goals were created: "Start the race" for five hundred million [[Monocoins]], and "Buy a marble for the race" for one million Monocoins. "Start the race" was a collective channel point goal, meaning that all viewers could contribute Monocoins towards the goal. "Buy a marble for the race" wasn't, meaning that one viewer would have to save up one million Monocoins to be able to activate it, by winning enough channel point bets. If a viewer activated "Buy a marble for the race", they would be able to specify the name of an anime, and then one marble named after that anime would be added to the race. If a different viewer had already bought a marble for the same anime, then the price would be two million. If two users had already bought marbles for it then it would be four million, and so on. If "Start the race" was activated, then Joe would stream the game Marbles on Stream (taking inspiration from [[The Voting Game]]), which is a game that lets you simulate marble runs where you can name each marble and see which one makes it to the end first, as a way of randomly choosing between things. He would then start a race containing marbles named after the anime that viewers had specified when they activated "Buy a marble for the race". In the first [[Umineko When They Cry - Question Arcs|Umineko]] stream, a character named Battler has a character trait where he is obsessed with boobs and constantly goes in to grope them. At one point in the story, Battler sees his cousin, Jessica, for the first time in six years. He comments that her breasts have grown bigger since the last time he saw her with the line "What are these, boobs?" Joe picked up on this and it became a stream joke after the story uses the trope a couple more times, cementing it in stream history.

The Anime Marble Race refers to the ongoing event where viewers can try to make Joe watch an anime of their choice. This event started on the 19th of April 2022, shortly after Joe returned from a streaming hiatus. He had been considering getting his viewers to make him watch an anime for years before he actually went through with this idea.

Two Twitch channel point goals were created: "Start the race" for five hundred million [[Monocoins]], and "Buy a marble for the race" for one million Monocoins. "Start the race" was a collective channel point goal, meaning that all viewers could contribute Monocoins towards the goal. "Buy a marble for the race" wasn't, meaning that one viewer would have to save up one million Monocoins to be able to activate it, by winning enough channel point bets. If a viewer activated "Buy a marble for the race", they would be able to specify the name of an anime, and then one marble named after that anime would be added to the race. If a different viewer had already bought a marble for the same anime, then the price would be two million. If two users had already bought marbles for it then it would be four million, and so on. If "Start the race" was activated, then Joe would stream the game Marbles on Stream (taking inspiration from [[The Voting Game]]), which is a game that lets you simulate marble runs where you can name each marble and see which one makes it to the end first, as a way of randomly choosing between things. He would then start a race containing marbles named after the anime that viewers had specified when they activated "Buy a marble for the race". == Guide to Migrating articles to MediaWiki ==
To create a page that doesn't exist, type the page title into the search bar. You will then be prompted to create the page if it doesn't exist.

The 'insert template' button is a useful tool that takes some getting used to. The most common templates are [[Template:YTCite|YTCite]], [[Template:JoeYT2Cite|JoeYT2Cite]], [[Template:EmotePage|EmotePage]], [[Template:GamePage|GamePage]], and [[Template:ChanInfobox|ChanInfobox]]. The list of references will be auto-generated at the bottom of the page, but you can also use the Insert drop-down to add it manually.

To have an image display, you must first upload it to the wiki using the tool on the right sidebar. The syntax for an example image in a ChanInfobox would be <code><nowiki>[[File:Example.png|frameless]]</nowiki></code>.

Emotes are much simpler, as you just need to type the emote name, such as <code>jphSad</code>, and it will show up.

When citing a Youtube video, the '''Video Code''' is simply the letters and numbers. For example, <code>dQw4w9WgXcQ</code>. There's a glitch that occurs when the title contains the character <code>]</code>. To fix it, surround it like this: <code><nowiki>Example Title with [Brackets]</nowiki></code>. There is no current way to cite Nodjatube videos. Please DM @frankcademy for advice on that.

As you migrate, please check a couple of things. We've decided to use American English spellings as our standard, so if you notice any British spellings, please change them. Also, citations should be after punctuation, not before.

Finally, make sure to add the appropriate categories (like tags, but better). You can either use the horizontal lines menu to add them, or go into the source editor and type <code>`<nowiki>[[Category:Example]]</nowiki>`</code>. Some templates automatically add categories, but there's no issue being redundant.

If you're not sure how to migrate some particular feature, look at other similar pages for reference. This is a wiki dedicated to the lore surrounding Joseph Anderson's Twitch streams. Joseph Anderson is a YouTuber and streamer. Joe also has a Discord server ([[Joseph Anderson Discord Server]], or just JADS for short).<ref>https://discordapp.com/invite/8gSBsYC</ref> In streams when he mentions something called "Dragon's Den", he is referring to the channel by that name in JADS, which acts as a second live chat during streams. JADS was crucial in deciding many of the games which Joe plans to stream in the future, in an event referred to as [[The Voting Game]]. Joe's community has a tradition of creating lots of fan art of his streams. Every Friday he presents a showcase of all the new fan art via a community-organized website.<ref>https://janart.bulder.fi/</ref> Joe is often depicted as a dragon in his fan art and his Twitch emotes. This is because the profile picture for his YouTube and Twitch channels is an illustration of a dragon which was used on the cover of one of his books. Since he doesn't show his face in his streams, fan artists took inspiration from his profile picture when depicting him in fan art, and now it's become tradition to draw him as a dragon.

The one prevailing theme of all of Joe's streams is that he doesn't like anime, but his audience does. This dynamic originates from the very beginning of Joe's streaming career. During the first few months of his Twitch channel and his Discord server existing, a significant proportion of his community were weebs to begin with, as is to be expected from groups of terminally-online people. But then two major things happened which gave the weebs in Joe's audience lots of attention and an influx of new members. The first thing is that when he streamed Undertale, he had a memorable moment where he accidentally selected a dialogue option which said that he liked anime.<ref>{{JoeTwitchClipCite|CuriousSmallSoybeanBigBrother|title=joe = weeb confirmed}}</ref> And the second thing is that he decided to stream [[Xenoblade Chronicles 2]] on the day it came out - thinking that it would bring in new viewers who wanted to see what the game was like - without realizing that it was aggressively anime. Both of these things have become infamous in stream lore.

As a result of Joe unintentionally garnering a highly weeb-oriented audience, it has become a running joke for Joe's viewers to try and turn him into a weeb, and for Joe to stubbornly resist this. This dynamic is the reason for various traditions within the community, including the creation of anime girl characters referred to as [[:Category:Chans|"Chans"]], and an ongoing event about trying to get Joe to watch anime which is referred to as [[The Anime Marble Race]].

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a Joe game played on stream in late 2017 on release. Xenoblade 2 is widely considered the first "weeb" game Joe ever played on stream, and began the chain of events that ultimately lead to wide [[Chanology|Chanification]] and [[The Anime Marble Race]].

During [[JADSEYA 2023]], Joe made a promise to play another Xenoblade game at a future date. As it stands, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is the main contender.

== Notable Stream Memes ==
One of the longest lasting stream memes that came from this game is [[Dadapon]]. In the game, there is a character called Tora who is a species called a nopon. In the Xenoblade franchise, nopon have a very peculiar way of talking, including using words for significant others that end in -pon. (I.E. "grampypon", "supervillainpon"). One of these made up words is "dadapon". Twitch chat started calling Joe this, and eventually it ended up being the base for the protagonists names in all of the [[Games/Persona|Persona]] games that Joe played.

Another meme that came from this game is [[Genbu's broken]]. At one point in the game, the party is trapped in a giant turtle named Genbu that is rapidly descending in the game's parallel to an ocean, and this was caused by it being shot through the head with a massive laser. At one point, when the party is discussing what happened, the main character, Rex, says in response to the fact that the Genbu is rapidly descending "So Genbu's broken?". Joe found this immensely hilarious and is still referenced every now and then to this day.

The stream meme [[Ya Dun]] also originated from this game. In the first unpatched version of the game, the frequency of battle chatter was incredibly high, causing enemies to constantly shout out battle chatter phrases at a comical rate. One of these lines is "You're done", but the delivery of the line mixed with the fact that the enemies from this area of the game all have Scottish accents made it sound like "Ya dun", and so thus the [[JphYADUN]] was born. This emote is still very often used.

However, one of the most important stream memes to come from this game was [[Blushy Crushy]]. At one point in the game, Tora tries to teach Pyra how to be more "ladylike" by acting like a maid. He refers to this as "what every man looking for [sic]". and that "If Pyra master[s] blushy crushy, all men will fall to Pyra's feet." It is commonly cited as one of the most uncomfortable scenes in the entire game by the Xenoblade community, and significantly contributed to this games categorization as "anime". Joe overall seemed to enjoy this game, but as he puts it, "as a parody". Joe has gone on record saying that he thinks this game is meant to be ironic and funny, and not serious. From that standpoint Joe says this game may be one of the best comedies ever made, but that if it is supposed to be taken seriously, it would be one of the worst games he has ever played.

One of the longest lasting stream memes that came from this game is [[Dadapon]]. In the game, there is a character called Tora who is a species called a nopon. In the Xenoblade franchise, nopon have a very peculiar way of talking, including using words for significant others that end in -pon. (I.E. "grampypon", "supervillainpon"). One of these made up words is "dadapon". Twitch chat started calling Joe this, and eventually it ended up being the base for the protagonists names in all of the [[Games/Persona|Persona]] games that Joe played.

Another meme that came from this game is [[Genbu's broken]]. At one point in the game, the party is trapped in a giant turtle named Genbu that is rapidly descending in the game's parallel to an ocean, and this was caused by it being shot through the head with a massive laser. At one point, when the party is discussing what happened, the main character, Rex, says in response to the fact that the Genbu is rapidly descending "So Genbu's broken?". Joe found this immensely hilarious and is still referenced every now and then to this day.

The stream meme [[Ya Dun]] also originated from this game. In the first unpatched version of the game, the frequency of battle chatter was incredibly high, causing enemies to constantly shout out battle chatter phrases at a comical rate. One of these lines is "You're done", but the delivery of the line mixed with the fact that the enemies from this area of the game all have Scottish accents made it sound like "Ya dun", and so thus the [[JphYADUN]] was born. This emote is still very often used.

However, one of the most important stream memes to come from this game was [[Blushy Crushy]]. At one point in the game, Tora tries to teach Pyra how to be more "ladylike" by acting like a maid. He refers to this as "what every man looking for [sic]". and that "If Pyra master[s] blushy crushy, all men will fall to Pyra's feet." It is commonly cited as one of the most uncomfortable scenes in the entire game by the Xenoblade community, and significantly contributed to this games categorization as "anime". From that standpoint Joe says this game may be one of the best comedies ever made, but that if it is supposed to be taken seriously, it would be one of the worst games he has ever played.

The 'insert template' button is a useful tool that takes some getting used to. Emotes are much simpler, as you just need to type the emote name, such as <code>jphSad</code>, and it will show up.

When citing a Youtube video, the '''Video Code''' is simply the letters and numbers. For example, <code>dQw4w9WgXcQ</code>. There's a glitch that occurs when the title contains the character <code>]</code>. To fix it, surround it like this: <code><nowiki>Example Title with [Brackets]</nowiki></code>. There is no current way to cite Nodjatube videos. Please DM @frankcademy for advice on that.

As you migrate, please check a couple of things. We've decided to use American English spellings as our standard, so if you notice any British spellings, please change them. Also, citations should be after punctuation, not before.

Finally, make sure to add the appropriate categories (like tags, but better). You can either use the horizontal lines menu to add them, or go into the source editor and type <code>`<nowiki>[[Category:Example]]</nowiki>`</code>. Some templates automatically add categories, but there's no issue being redundant.

This is a wiki dedicated to the lore surrounding Joseph Anderson's Twitch streams. Joseph Anderson is a YouTuber and streamer. Joe also has a Discord server ([[Joseph Anderson Discord Server]], or just JADS for short).<ref>https://discordapp.com/invite/8gSBsYC</ref> In streams when he mentions something called "Dragon's Den", he is referring to the channel by that name in JADS, which acts as a second live chat during streams. JADS was crucial in deciding many of the games which Joe plans to stream in the future, in an event referred to as [[The Voting Game]]. Joe's community has a tradition of creating lots of fan art of his streams. Every Friday he presents a showcase of all the new fan art via a community-organised website.<ref>https://janart.bulder.fi/</ref> Joe is often depicted as a dragon in his fan art and his Twitch emotes. This is because the profile picture for his YouTube and Twitch channels is an illustration of a dragon which was used on the cover of one of his books. Since he doesn't show his face in his streams, fan artists took inspiration from his profile picture when depicting him in fan art, and now it's become tradition to draw him as a dragon.

The one prevailing theme of all of Joe's streams is that he doesn't like anime, but his audience does. This dynamic originates from the very beginning of Joe's streaming career. During the first few months of his Twitch channel and his Discord server existing, a significant proportion of his community were weebs to begin with, as is to be expected from groups of terminally-online people. But then two major things happened which gave the weebs in Joe's audience lots of attention and an influx of new members. The first thing is that when he streamed Undertale, he had a memorable moment where he accidentally selected a dialogue option which said that he liked anime.<ref>{{JoeTwitchClipCite|CuriousSmallSoybeanBigBrother|title=joe = weeb confirmed}}</ref> And the second thing is that he decided to stream [[Xenoblade Chronicles 2]] on the day it came out - thinking that it would bring in new viewers who wanted to see what the game was like - without realising that it was aggressively anime. Both of these things have become infamous in stream lore.

As a result of Joe unintentionally garnering a highly weeb-oriented audience, it has become a running joke for Joe's viewers to try and turn him into a weeb, and for Joe to stubbornly resist this. This dynamic is the reason for various traditions within the community, including the creation of anime girl characters referred to as [[:Category:Chans|"Chans"]], and an ongoing event about trying to get Joe to watch anime which is referred to as [[The Anime Marble Race]].

Xephorix512: Remade JADS page

The Joseph Anderson Discord Server (or [[What is JADS?|JADS]]) for short, is the name of Joe's discord server that he created in January of 2017. It contains multiple channels dedicated to the discussion of games, hobbies and niches, stream related channels, voice channels for community gaming, and spoiler channels for conversations revolving around games Joe is currently playing where people can freely talk about content Joe hasn't seen yet.

JADS has undergone two major transformations. The first was in July of 2019, where the server was restructured to remove many outdated channels and either replace them with new better ones or archive them permanently. The most recent change happened on 2 February 2025, where a few old channels (most notably #Cringe-cafe) was archived and multiple new channels emerged. An entire new category for hobbies called "Sides and niches" replaced many threads and separate channels such as Jenshin den (A former thread turned channel created for discussing topics pertaining to the gacha game "Genshin Impact").

A few notable memes that originated from the discord are [[Joms]], and [[Define a Slur]].

Some notable community events that took place mainly or entirely on JADS are [[JADSEYA]], [[The Voting Game]], and the [[JADS Marble Race Game Giveaways]].
